Hamble Parish Maintenance Work
Hamble Conservation Volunteers
We have made a start on our dedicated working days for Hamble Parish Council. It was timely as the recent very high winds had brought down a number of trees and many branches. The Spitfire Lane footpath had been blocked in a number of places and we worked jointly with the Parish groundsmen with them tackling the tree trunks with chain saws while we removed branches and stacked the debris in convenient locations. Once this was completed we turned our attention to overgrown Laurel which is dominating the mixed copice running parallel with the path. This task will require us to return on a number of occasions. The turnout for the task was excellent and we welcomed a number of first time volunteers.
