Repairs

Hamble Conservation Volunteers carry out a wide range of repairs around the Common.  The majority of these are concerned with keeping the paths functional maintaining access.  For example the winter storms a couple of years ago destroyed a large section of the coastal path and it was a major task to rebuild a replacement further inland.  A working party of volunteers spent days clearing the path of gorse and bracken and laying over 40 tons of gravel sand mix in places which were boggy under foot.  We could not have achieved this without the support of a large team from local company Qioptiq.
